Forest Berry by Halo
Back with another E-liquid review with one from a new range of shortfills. This is Forest Berry by the already popular Halo Vapour Co. This was supplied by vaping vendor; E-cigarette Direct who also run the Halo range of E-liquids. Halo are normally supplied in 10ml TPD bottles of 50/50 mix, but this is from a new range of 4 shortfills in 60ml bottles of 70VG/30PG. I really liked the Halo flavours so it’s so good to see they are releasing some in shortfills with higher VG.
Forest Berry comes with 50ml of E-liquid in a 60ml shortfill bottle and supplied in a box. The box is black with the ‘Halo Vapour Co’ title and font on the front, above the flavour and bottle amount. The back of the box has printed warnings, Halo’s contact info and ingredients, which lists this juice as a 70VG/30PG. The bottom of the box has the stock barcode and the purple top lid has the ‘Forest Berry’ flavour title, bottle size and that it is 0mg Nicotine. One side of the box is black and the other side is purple, both with parts of the Halo graphic (Putting together with the other 3 flavours makes the Halo title). The bottle is in a clear 60ml unicorn shortfill bottle and wrapped with a large black label. The front of the labelling contains make and title above the amount and Nicotine level of 0mg. On the reverse of the label contains the same as the box with printed cautions, ingredients and contact info. At the bottom of that is a batch code and E-liquid best before date. A child safety cap is on the bottle and it features one of those very handy removable nozzles to add the Nicotine shot.
The flavour of Forest Berry is described on the E-cigarette Direct website as a medley of sweet purple berries resulting in a light but incredibly moreish flavour. On smelling from the bottle, it’s a really nice scent of dark berries. It smells like a good mix and can pick out a sweet blackcurrant scent in there. It smelt really strong before adding the Nic shot, so I am assuming Halo do take into account the extra 10ml going in there and it’s not diluting the flavour after.
Device used: Yihi SX Mini G Class and Wotofo Recurve RDA with 0.4 ohm build.
On vaping, it’s a really tasty fruity mix of the darker berries. I’m not actually a big fan of Blackcurrant vapes, but this is mixed so well alongside other berries, that it creates a nice mix of its own. It’s not in anyway over-sweet, but at the same time, it isn’t a muted flavour. I’ve found some fruit E-liquids are far too sweet with copious amounts of added sweetener thrown in, but this is a really smooth mix. It’s easily a good all day vape if you’re into the darker fruits. I’ve seen some darker Berry or Blackcurrant flavours are adding some menthol into the mix, but I don’t pick up any menthol at all in this (which is good news for me, maybe not so for the menthol-heads; but you can always add a shot). If you are looking for a nice darker fruity E-liquid, that isn’t too sweet, this is well worth the go! Cloud production is good at Halo’s new 70VG mix and no synthetic or dodgy after-tastes. A really good juice!
My score: 8.7/10 – A nice blend of darker Berry fruits without over-sweetness!
You can buy Forest Berry by Halo at E-cigarette Direct via the links at the start of the review. The price for 50ml in a 60ml bottle is currently £14.99 and there are 3 other flavours in the current shortfill range; Tobacco Gold, Menthol Blend and Cream Custard (review for that one coming soon).
