Black Moriya by Digbys
An E-liquid review today from a UK based brand, this is Black Moriya by Digbys Juices. Digbys is a popular brand and has been active for many years in the E-liquid market. They create some unique mixes which you can find in many vape shops or on their web store. A Digbys E-liquid was one of the first preferred flavours that I vaped back in the day, but I haven’t actually tried this one, so we’ll see how it tastes.
The Packaging
Black Moriya comes in a 60ml smoked plastic bottle with 50ml of E-liquid inside, leaving room for a 10ml Nicotine shot. A black label wraps the bottle. The label has the printed Digbys branding on the front above the flavour title and E-liquid info. On the right-hand side of the label has the printed base ratio of 60VG/40PG and on the bottom includes Digbys contact details and ‘Made in Britain’ symbol.
The left side of the label includes a synopsis of the flavour profile of Black Moriya; Painstakingly steeped in small batches ready for a shot, or not. A slightly toned down menthol packed with juicy blackcurrant.
The E-Liquid
The colour of the Black Moriya juice is visibly Purple replicating the Blackcurrant in the flavour. The flavour profile (further to the label) is listed on the Digbys website; We have taken Moriyas Mix and toned the menthol down a few notches and crammed it full of blackcurrants to make a truly wondrous juice. A 70/30 mix that will deliver flavor-packed lung fulls all day long. The label has the ratio as 60VG/40PG, so I’m not sure if the recipe has been tinkered a little since I received the bottle and now the VG is more within newer batches.
On having a smell from the bottle, it’s a Blackcurrant smack-in-the-face. I can pick up a slight hint of Menthol in the scent but isn’t overly strong.
Device used: Voopoo Drag 2 and Wotofo Recurve RDA with 0.4ohm Clapton build.
The Flavour
On the vape, Black Moriya is a cool blend of mainly Blackcurrant but with what tastes like other notes thrown in alongside. On the inhale, a deep Blackcurrant is a leader but it is complemented by fruity floral notes. Sitting next to that is a cooling menthol which pops out more for me leading into the exhale. A really nice refreshing juice that is bursting with a smooth flavour. A lot of Blackcurrant Menthol E-liquids are exactly what it is, but Digbys seems to add notes to the flavour, creating some trusty Digbys uniqueness to the mix.
My score: 8.7/10 – Juicy Blackcurrant and fruitiness with a refreshing cooling exhale!
You can pick up Black Moriya from the Digbys Juices website linked at the start of the review. The price is a brilliant £9.99 for 50ml but at the time of writing this today, it is currently on special offer at £6.99. Go grab a bottle or a few, if Blackcurrant menthol is your thing, you won’t be disappointed!
