Fruit Salad Chews by Darkstar
Jumping in with an E-liquid review today and this is Fruit Salad Chews by Darkstar. This brand has been covered many times before on the blog and is based in the UK. They have a huge range of their own branded E-liquids as well as DIY mixing supplies on their website.
If you are in the market for some new flavours and haven’t checked them out yet, you must give them a try! You can pick up a 100ml shortfill for under a tenner and they have some superb flavours in their ranges.
So let’s check out another one of the Darkstar flavours with this Fruit Salad Chews.
As with the other Darkstar shortfill bottles in their range, Fruit Salad Chews is supplied in a 120ml Chubby Gorilla bottle which has 100ml of E-liquid, leaving space for a few shots should you need it. You can also purchase this flavour in a One-Shot or Darkstar’s Bottle Shot® if you have some VG and PG and want it to go a bit further.
A Pastel-coloured label wraps around the bottle. Printed on the front is the title within a graphic of a jar of Fruit Salad sweets with ‘A Darkstar Original Flavour’ printed around it. Over to the left of the label is printed contact info for Darkstar Vapour above printed E-liquid warnings. On the right side of the label is the printed flavour profile. On the bottom of the bottle is a label showing the batch number and best-before of the E-liquid.
By the title, we know what sort of flavour we are dealing with here, but it is described on the Darkstar website as; Take a trip down memory lane with this sweet treat, straight from the DarkStar tuck shop. Candy pineapple and sweet raspberry chews combine with a touch of cream to create our most beautifully nostalgic flavour to date.
The juice is a 70VG/30PG base ratio and with the mention of some cream in the profile, might benefit from a bit of a steep. On having a smell from the bottle, I get a very punchy Pineapple candied scent and can tell it is going to be bursting with flavour.
Device used: Oxva Unibox Mod and Oxva Arbiter 2 RTA with 0.4Ω Clapton build.
On the vape, Darkstar’s Fruit Salad Chews is a punchy Pineapple sitting next to a sweet Raspberry. Both flavours are moulded together with a candy flavour and a creamy note. Here in the UK, there is a well-known chewy sweet confectionary that comes in fruity flavours. There is a flavour with the same title, and this E-liquid is a perfect rendition of that. In fact, the flavour comparison is exactly the same, it’s uncanny and Darkstar got this perfect!
The juice is a sweet one, but not overdone with sweetener so it’s quite coil friendly, smooth and a good all-day vape. Another banging juice from Darkstar which has over the last year, become one of my favourite brands of E-liquids.
My score: 8.8/10 – A perfect comparison flavour to the popular chewy Fruit Salad sweets!
