So with Geekvape already being a leader in the vape industry, this kit sees them launch a touchscreen device in the Aegis range! I know there have been touchscreen devices in the past from brands, but I’ve only had experience with a few. One was a Joyetech that really wasn’t cracked up to what it should have been and didn’t last long, so was very keen to get this kit running knowing it had the Geekvape Aegis reliability and toughness thrown in. This kit includes the T200 Aegis Touch device and the popular Geekvape Z Sub-ohm tank. So let’s check it out!
Packaging & Contents
The T200 kit from Geekvape comes in a thick branded black cardboard box with an outer slide-off sleeve. The top of the sleeve has printed branding, a title and an embossed image of the kit of the colour purchased inside. Each side of the sleeve is in the usual Geekvape Orange with branding on one side and social media/website for Geekvape printed on the other. On the bottom of the sleeve is a printed description of the kit, 6 key features and package contents. Underneath is printed contact info, barcode and scratch-for-authenticity sticker. The outer sleeve slides off and packed inside the main box is;
- Geekvape T200 Aegis Touch Device.
- Geekvape Z (Zeus) Sub-ohm Tank (Pre-installed with 0.15Ω coil).
- Spare 0.4Ω coil.
- Type-C USB Cable.
- Spare o-rings & Coil Tool (to remove installed coils).
- Spare (wide) glass for Z tank.
- User manual, warranty & warning cards. These are in a card envelope with quick touchscreen gesture instructions illustrated on the front.
T200 Aegis Touch Device
The T200 Aegis Touch Device is a rectangular mod that runs on 2 x 18650 external batteries. It is powered by Geekvape’s AS Chip 3.0 and is capable of 5-200W in wattage mode via 1W increments. The device measures just over 141mm in height, 56.05mm in width and a depth of 31.12mm.
The front of the device is the large 2.4″ full touchscreen colour display with a rubber plate above and below. On top is an alloy 510 plate over the top of the rubber plate with a centre-mounted 510 port. Down on the bottom is the battery door that flips open and locks shut. On the rear of the device is the usual Aegis design stitched leather panel with a subtle ‘Geekvape Touch’ etched at the bottom. Over on the left side is a lock switch for the device with Geekvape etched in above. On the right side is the main power/fire button, above the Type-C USB port.
As with the rest of the Aegis range, the T200 Aegis Touch is (new) Tri-proof with IP68-rated water and dust resistance. Due to its materials, it also has a higher level of shock resistance.
To power the T200 on and off, it is the usual 5 clicks of the fire button where you are greeted with a welcome before the main display loads. Scrolling your finger to the right of the screen unlocks the display to change any power level or settings. To change the wattage power simply click the wattage power on the screen and move the wattage up and down by scrolling and pressing OK to lock in your power. Scrolling up or down while the display is unlocked will open the settings and mode menu. ‘Smart’ mode will intelligently see and set the best resistance for the coil used. ‘Power’ is for the default Wattage mode. ‘Professional’ setting where you can select TC-SS, TC-TCR, VPC (user-defined curves) and Bypass vaping modes. ‘Setting’ lets you change the settings and choice for the device, which consist of;
- Theme: Select 1 of 4 defined themes for the display. I usually stick with the Rocket taking off on the vape theme, because, why not! There is a default basic one if you don’t like all that on your display (as pictured below).
- Wallpaper: Select 1 of 3 background Wallpapers for the device.
- Brightness: Adjust the brightness of the display.
- Reset: Resets the device back to default.
- Puff Clear: you guessed it; resets the puff counter.
- Version: Displays the version number on the screen.
You can also switch modes quicker by scrolling left or right while on the main display screen. This will switch between Power, TC-SS, TC-TCR, VPC, Smart and Bypass modes. All the info you need is displayed on the screen neatly within each mode and both battery levels are at the top along with a lock/unlock indicator. As per usual on regulated devices, all the safety precautions are there via Geekvape’s AS Chip 3.0.
The T200 Aegis Touch comes in 7 colours over at Health Cabin; Azure Blue (as reviewed), Blackish Green, Navy Blue, Silver, Claret Red, Rainbow and Black. The Z tank colour in the kit may vary depending on the colour purchased. The tank supplied with Azure Blue is Gunmetal and a Black tank is supplied in the Green device option, but the rest are in the same colour as the main device.
Geekvape Z (Zeus) 2021 Tank
Supplied in the T200 kit is Geekvape’s popular Z Sub-ohm tank. This is a stock coil tank taking the Z coil series and 2 are supplied in the kit. One is a pre-installed 0.15Ω resistance and the other is a higher 0.4Ω Z coil. You can also purchase other resistances separately in the Geekvape Z coil range.
Geekvape’s Z tank is an adjustable top airflow Sub-ohm tank with a removable 810 drip tip up top. To fill simply quarter-turn the top cap and remove it to reveal two large fill holes for the e-liquid.
The tank is a 26mm diameter with a height of 42.5mm without the drip tip attached. Juice capacity is 5.5ml but this will depend on your country’s regulations. The Z coils are inserted by unscrewing the tank bottom off and pushing the coil up into the middle chamber of the Z tank.
Geekvape boasts the Z tank is leakproof with double service life on the Z coil series and the tank utilizes the top to bottom airflow to boost the vaping experience.
My Thoughts
I have been using the T200 kit for a few weeks now and have been really impressed. The Z tank isn’t really anything new, it’s been covered within the blog before, but is a very decent stock coil sub-ohm tank. Each of the Z series coils in the kit gives a very flavourful and cloudy vape at higher wattages. It’s a perfect sub-ohm tank if you prefer to run stock coils and pairs well with the mod. But for me, the show stealer is the T200 Aegis Touch device!
The Aegis Touch device is a brilliant dual battery mod which is rugged and really simple to use. The whole touchscreen feels much more premium than other touchscreen devices and the side lock button stops any accidental touches when on the move. The responsive side fire button makes it easy for both the thumb and finger firing and although the device is quite bulky, it is comfortable in the hand.
The menu and settings are very easy to use and the touchscreen is very responsive to navigate and change, so you don’t have to keep swiping to select what you need. Some vapers might say the whole touchscreen thing is a gimmick (wasn’t touchscreen phones once seen the same way) but I would have to say, this is probably my favourite ever device from Geekvape. I was a fan of the large-screened Aegis X, but this T200 device takes things further and still has that usual Aegis strength. Granted, I’m not going to drop-test to see if the screen holds up, but you can feel how strong it is.
The T200 kit comes with my recommendation and I really can’t point out any cons so far. Obviously, in longer-term use, I am unsure how it’ll hold up, but from a brand that creates reliable devices (and I know some people still using the original Legend), I am confident this device can stand the test of time.
To pick up the T200 Kit head over to Health Cabin via the links at the start of the review and make sure you are logged in to get the best price. They also have the T200 mod only (linked above also) as an option to purchase if you intend to run your own tanks or already own the Geekvape Z tank.
Thanks for reading and hope everyone had a Happy Holidays!
